Vice President's Report:
Updated 4/13/08

By: Tim Bauer

Hello to all you folks out there. I hope this report finds you well. Spring beaver trapping will be mostly done by the time you get this report. I hope your season went well and you got a chance to be out in the country doing what we love. I was very pleased with my season and will be out there hitting it even harder next year.

The winter meeting was a very successful one and I believe the attendance was higher than most years. Thank you to all those involved in pulling it off. The winter meeting kicks off this year’s raffle. Please help the MTA out and do your part by selling your 10 tickets, heck, sell more and earn some nice incentive prizes. I attended the hearing on the lawsuit and was very impressed with the trapper turn-out. We filled the courtroom and hopefully that got the judge’s attention. Now all we can do is wait for his decision.

If you haven't heard, there is a contest to see which district can donate the most fur to the tanned fur project. The district that donates the most will get credit for the highest dollar gun on next year’s raffle. Gabby's District 8 believes they have this one in the bag, so I think the challenge has been made! Either way, the MTA comes out a winner as the need is great for tanned fur donations.

I'd like everyone reading this report to look in the first page or two of this issue and see the list of names of all those who donate their time to make the MTA what it is today. Can your name be added to the list? Can you step forward and help in any way? I encourage everyone to help in any way they can. This association is great but can always have room for improvement. Give it a try, you might like it.

Lastly, please keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers.

Take care,
Tim
