The Winter Meeting has come and gone and was well attended. The fur buyers were busy and appeared to be buying quite a bit of fur. Thanks to Brian and Shannon for the demos. I'd like to thank all the helpers that set up and cleaned up afterwards. The Winter Meeting will be held again in Banning Junction at the East Central High School. Just a reminder there will be NO FUR TAGGING at the 2016 winter meeting as it will be held a week later so we don't conflict with New Year’s.
The Legal Banquet afterwards was a great time. Lots of great prizes and another good meal from Ringers. Buzz did an outstanding job again this year and has a great group of volunteers helping get the banquet organized. Prizes are already being arranged for next year. The banquet sold out again this year and if you’re thinking of going next year get your tickets early. They go on sale at the summer convention and Gary Meis will have them for sale.
Spring meetings will be coming so try to get to yours. Some important issues will be discussed.
The Summer Convention will be held at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds in Bemidji. Should be good as we have a lot of vendors already committed to attending. Dallas and Dan have done a great job lining everything up so far but could use some volunteers from District 2, so if you can help contact them. Pete Jonas is in charge of demos so if you’re interested in giving one contact him. There are some campsites with hook ups and will be on a first come first served basis. No entrance until Thursday morning at 8 am. I believe a couple other things are going on that weekend so if you need a motel room make reservations early.
We have a great list of guns on our raffle this year and also a new raffle chairman. Steven Hogg has stepped up and taken the job. He seems to be doing great so far. If you need extra tickets contact Steven. I'd like to Thank Gary Meis for his years of service on the raffle and it has been a pleasure working with him. I'm sure Betty did most of the work. I'd also like to thank Russ and Mary Jo Heavirland from Soup to Nuts for all their help with the guns. They do an outstanding job and are also a pleasure to work with.
See you at the spring meetings.
